    Hi,

I'm totally new to this so I don't know if what I want to do is advisable. I have a PS3, 360, Digital Box etc.. in my room and I dont think its big enough to justify surround sound so I just wanted a decent pair of Stereo speakers to hook up to some or all of them (PS3 is priority as I use it for music).

My research tells me I need an AV receiver but because I only want stereo getting a 5.1 or 7.1 channel system seems wasteful (again I know very little about this stuff).

I was looking at pairing a set of Monitor Audio BX2s with a Sony STRDH820. Could you advise on this and maybe quote a price please. I would need cable if it doesn't come with either and delivery to Dublin if that is possible otherwise I could try make the trip up.

    Additional Details of Questionable usefulness:
    • The TV in my setup has digital optical out is it preferable to hook devices straight to the AV Receiver or to the TV then out?
    • The TV also has issues displaying Video Via Component or Composite when no audio is detected. Any chance this could prove an issue with an intermediate receiver?
