Decisions on what car to import?

I've about €13k budget to import a car.

I want to come up as much years as possible, and of course get something decent. My mileage is about 12k miles a year and would prefer something cheap to tax so post 2008 is a preference. I also want a decent cabin to sit in! I know the mileage is high and that isn't a concern, once there's clear documented evidence of a full service history and a clear HPI, and hopefully one company owner. I'll be purchasing those services separately, from RAC or the likes

I've come up with 2 examples:

This Audi A4, current model, lower Co2
    HERE

Then this Mondeo. HERE With a lesser mileage. More toys but a lesser marque car. With a bit of bargaining I could probably land this land this, for €11/€11.5, so obviously cheaper than an Audi/BMW of the same year

What are peoples opinions? Any other options?

    Thanks

That Audi looks suspect, you'd normally pay much more than that.

I'd say you won't get a right one for less than stg £11000

    That's ford focus money there.

    Maybe I'm wrong though

Tbh Audi aren't regarded in the UK in the same way they are here (Luxury car) even though most Irish ones are poverty spec. It's why so many people import them from the UK even though because of Irish view it's a Luxury car they still get dqueezed pretty hard on VRT

I guessed that alright. The Mondeo of that year is charged at 20% VRT, while the Audi and BMW equivalent is at 16% because of the lower Co2. So if I was buying the Mondeo, the VRT payable is only slightly less than that of the the Audi (higher OMSP, but lower Co2). The Econetic Mondeo on the other hand, is charged at 16%, but they're all poverty spec
