Not sure why but I love amateur golf

19 year old Dermot McElroy shot -9 63 yesterday at Royal Portrush

"It wasn’t quite the course record 61 that a 16-year old Rory McIlroy shot in Portrush seven years ago but Ballymena’s Dermot McElroy showed he’s a seriously gifted talent when he fired a stunning, nine under par 63 on the Dunluce links to top the qualifiers for the North of Ireland Amateur Open at Royal Portrush."

After 2 rounds of strokeplay the matchplay started this morning

Dunbar is sitting this out as he's got The Open coming up but plenty of other big names like McCrudden, Diamond and of course McElroy

There's a Chris Dunbar from Rathmore, is that Alan's brother?
