Removing shower tray

Clearing out old bathroom suite, blanking off etc before the professionals come in. Wondering how I detach shower waste from tray? The waste won't turn at all, afraid of lifting tray and causing damage, but want to clear room. A larger tray is to be subsequently installed, waste will be relocated. It's an upstairs bathroom.

Can you not lift a floorboard to get access to the waste pipe or trap , if not just break the tray at the waste.

use a hammer & chisel / flat screw driver to tap the edge of waste inlet to anticlockwise direction, or just use the flat screw driver to break out the waste inlet.

I recently done it,the waste grill should lift out with a twist, then there was an inner tube which again twisted and came out and seperated the tray from the waste pipe.

This is the case if the plumber used a mac alpine waste but in some cases they may have used polypipe.

To be honest if it were me i would just hit around the waste with a hammer and screwdriver as said above. its not as if you need to save the tray.

Another suggestion is to take out everything except the tray. Sometimes builders that put these trays in never supported the pipes as it gives them more movement when fitting from underneath so when you take the tray out it may not have any support for the pipe underneath.
