You need to pass cat C before going for the EC1 licence.

why not do EC instead of EC1, more oppertunity for a job, EC1 very limited, only useful for towing a caravan or the like.

well if the person was to do the EC1 test they could drive a combination of truck and trailer not exceeding 12,000kgs something along the lines of the ESB contracters use,But getting the EC licence would work better in trying to get a job and have to say in all my years working in the transport industry I never saw an advert for an EC1 driver.

Do the theory CPC first then the driving test once you get the C licence you can apply for the provisional .ec licence then try and get a job that pays more than min wage

I sometimes wonder why I bothered my hole and got my C licence? I don't use at the moment and have no intentions to either especially with the money on offer. I'd rather pack a shelve than being responsible for a truck on €9 ph!
