I'm getting a new dell desktop for my birthday and I have an old one here with a sapphire radeon x800gto in it ..... a few years old ahem :o

Just wondering if there is any reason / benefit in putting that card in the new computer? Likely the onboard gfx card (likely an intel hd 3000 or so my better half says who advised against getting this computer saying he'd build one cheaper ....... in 10 years time lol) in the new pooter will be light years ahead of the old one

Probably wont even work either as around that age AGP was in full swing, PCIexpress is the new standard for video cards. Also make sure the new Dell has a spare PCIe slot so if you want to buy a dedicated card (which is a must for gaming) you have the option. Some Dell motherboards don't have a spare PCIe x16 slot.
also Dell cases can sometimes be too cmpact making the choice of buying a decent deticated GPU a problem, some GPUs are very long and won't fit in an OEM manufacturers case usually, building is definately the better option imo!
