Comparison of data network mode with different networks and devices.

I'm on the Galaxy S plus at the moment and have had it for nearly a year. WiFi works well but the data network mode with this handset might well be non existent and always has been. So its time now, for me to get an upgrade but im trying to figure out a few things first before I make another mistake in what handset and what network i choose to go with.

I wonder has the problem with the data network been the fault of the galaxy s or has it been the fault of meteor?? I am considering getting the iphone 4s with three as they have all free data and the rest of the contract also seems reasonable.

What handset do you use, what network are you on?? Have you noticed problems with the galaxy s or with meteor in the past??

If not on the galaxy s or on meteor, do you have an i phone, what network is it? How do you find the data network, is it quick and responsive or much the same as my problems??

    Many thanks

This is the Android section of the forum, i will find it hard anyone have an iphone here :)

Personally i am with Three and my data have been amazing but bare in mind depends on location as well you get your speed. been with Meteor before and didn't last.

my advise get a PAYG sim and try in your area to decide for which network, in terms of mobile phones, i am afraid i can't recommend iphone because i can't stand them but i can tell you the Galaxy S3 is the big hit :)

The new iPhone is coming out in autumn so you might want to hold off for awhile. Have you considered the Samsung Galaxy S3? It's on Three for free. If you liked your S+ you'll love the S3!

I have never really like my s plus is why i was considering moving to apple. That being said, i have no idea which network is most reliable for data network connection as its what i use the most. On meteor, it was a complete joke.. Slow as a wet week.

No one is going to be able to give you a definitive answer. Data speeds vary wildly from cell to cell across all networks.

In the past 2 years I've tried Vodafone, Three, Tesco mobile and Meteor. For ME, Meteor has, by a large margin, given the fastest data speeds and best connectivity.

Tesco speeds are a joke, Three switches to gprs at the drop of a hat & won't switch back, Vodafone was good but Meteor was by far the fastest.

Search the Galaxy S thread for the debates about which modem (there are dozens) offered the best data connectivity for that one particular phone & you'll soon realize how impossible your question is.
