Bicycle up to Kildare

    Hi,

    what is the cheapest way to sent a bicycle up to Kildare from Cork City?

    Seriously though, could you get a bus there and put it in the hold? Is that allowed? I imagine that would be cheap enough if it was possible.

    EDIT: a quick search on the Bus Eireann site looks like €22 return.

    From Bus Eireann website:
    Bicycles, prams and non-folding childrens’ pushchairs or buggies will be carried only if sufficient accommodation is available; they must be placed in the luggage compartment or other designated area of the vehicle and are subject to a charge as determined by Bus Éireann from time to time.

    Train also:
    Bicycles on InterCity Trains
    All InterCity trains have bicycles carriage facilities. Dublin to Cork and Dublin to Belfast trains are located in a storage area separate from the passenger compartment of the train. All other InterCity routes the bicycle spaces are within the passenger compartment. These routes are restricted to three bicycles per service.

    Trains have space for bikes, bit more expensive though I'd reckon
