Combo box without a record function

    Hi
    I'm looking to get a combo box for my mother to allow her watch saorview & FTA on one box but she doesnt need to record.

    Can anyone make a recommendation?

    everyone has a different opinion. It depends on you budget and needs.

    Generally I recommend 2 boxes. One Saorview approved, the Other a FreeSAT HD approved. there will be no retuning and 7 day guide on both.

    Combo boxes lose their channels over time, unlike a FreeSAT box.

    If you MUST have a combo then the Ferguson 120 is cheap and well supported on boards. You would need to download a channel list and add it by USB and do this every 6 months or so to stop channels dissapearing.

    The more expensive combos are Saorview approved if the 7 day guide etc is important on the Irish channels.

    Unfortunately Saorview approval does not mean that no retuning will be needed although it should be a rare enough event. Most combos as far as I'm aware have the 7 day guide on Irish terrestrial channels.
