Freeview & Saorview in one

    Hi all,

My mum used to always get RTE & BBC/UTV/C4 via an aerial.
With the Digital switchover, is there a neat solution to get both Saorview AND Freeview in one box/TV ?

She's 80y.o. and the simpler the better.
I was considering getting her the ALDI TV on Thursday but after thinking about it now am unsure.
Also, the STB that they're selling says "Receives all available digital free to air signals in the Republic of Ireland.".
I'm assuming they do not mean the overspill from NI Freeview ?

Can anyone recommend a dual-tuner (Freeview & Saorview) LCD about 22" plus a similar STB?

Depending on where abouts in the country you are as to what you will be able to receive...

You don't need a dual tuner, any Saorview approved tv or box will also decode the standard definition Freeview channels.

Outstanding! That's exactly what I wanted to hear !

She's in Co.Roscommon, and has had no problems with the analogue signals from Lanesboro direction. Time will tell whether the signal boost on the Freeview will be sufficient for her to pick it up there.
