Rent supplement

I'm an IT contractor and I've been paying PAYE and PRSI for the last 4 years. I found out last Thursday my job is disappearing and I'm being made redundant so I finish working in 2 weeks. This came completely out of the blue as my contract had just been renewed a few months ago until summer next year.

I'm wondering if anyone here can give me some advice as to what benefits I might be entitled to. I'm in my 30's, single, no children. I have no savings and my rent is quite hefty (1200 eur per month). I live in South County Dublin.

I've started looking for work but it's only been a day or so, so I suppose it's a bit soon to be expecting to land something else.

I'm hoping to keep living down here but if I want to clear my credit card debt completely, I can only stay to the end of the month otherwise I'll start burning through the last of my wages which I will need to help clear the cc bill and get me started again somewhere else if the worst comes to the worst.

Is there any chance I will be able to claim enough benefits to pay my rent and bills? Otherwise I will have to move out/move home if I don't get more work. :(
