    Hey guys,

Wondering if any of you could help me out. Everytime i start my computer, i get the BSOD stating a problem with ndis.sys. After doing a bit of searching i saw this file is associated with the ethernet so i disabled the ethernet controller. All seemed to be ok and computer booted up but after a few minutes it happened again. Dont know if its anything to do with it but happened as i was loading a flash game. Any help would be amazing as this is doing my head in! Any info that may help find a solution feel free to ask.

    Thanks,

    Dec.

Write down the model name and number of all your network adapters in device manager first before you uninstall any drivers as you can then go onto your computers website and download the correct ones to keep handy incase they are needed. If you have them all on disc then fine.

Right click my computer and at the bottom click properties and go into device manager and then look for network adapters. Click the arrow beside network adapters in the drop-down list Right click your ethernet adapter and uninstall but do NOT check the box that says remove driver. Just uninstall the network adapter and then restart pc and it will re-install itself. It might sort it. Also what network adapter is it ? is it realtek ? nvidia nforce networking controller ???

This might be of help to you as well. http://seoroot.com/blog/windows-xp/ndissys-blue-screen-error.html

From what I have just read you need to delete all network drivers. Make sure to either get the make and model of the ones you're uninstalling or back them up as I don't think it will automatically reinstall wireless drivers on a reboot.

It might just be a com-port issue with a conflict this is why i said just uninstall the ethernet device alone and try it but if that doesn't work then as above poster said, download the drivers for all your network adapters and have them handy while you uninstall all network adapters and drivers. Make sure they are the correct ones for your system. To be honest though, it's usually as simple as uninstalling the network devices on their own without having to uninstall the drivers as well, usually a simple IRQ conflict between them.

Thanks guys, uninstalled/reinstalled everything network related and seems to have done the trick. Apart from the ethernet controller and Wireless adapter there was a 3rd entry in Device Manager which didnt re-appear after the restart. Cant remember what it was called now but possibly from an old NIC and maybe the cause of the problem? Either way, up and running again. Thanks a mill for the help.
