    I'm thinking of purchasing a 2008 car and was wondering what sort of discount approx can i expect when paying cash.

    It depends entirely on how it's priced.

    plus what type of car it is.. a low tax diesel will be easier to sell than a higher taxed petrol for example. you will have a better chance of getting a bigger discount on the petrol as there may not be as many people looking to buy

    Again, it's all down to how the car is priced. A keenly-priced V8 petrol may sell for asking, whereas an overpriced 1.9TDI may struggle even at 30% off.

    Depends how good the buyer's negotiation skills are and how eager the seller is too.
