    Hi.

First time posting in this form so be gentle.

Small problem with my bike, the gears don't go lower than third, been youtubing how to sort it myself, but it just doesn't seem to be working, I'm obviously not doing something right. Third gear although not too bad, its not so nice when I've a few hills to navigate (which typically are all when I'm on my way back from my run lol)

Anyone any ideas on how much (roughly) a professional would charge, ie Halfords etc to align the gears back into place?

Alternatively, any of you guys reading this feel like a nixer let me know.

I'm in the Naas area btw.

    regards.

Ok is this on the front ring it wont drop from the third ring to the first or second. A bit more on the setup you have would be good.

Minor adjustments are generally done using a screwdriver and adjusting the tensioning screws on the deraileur. For coarser adjustments the cable is adjusted.

    Hi Chris.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. The bikes gears all work from third gear up, ie I can get 3-8 11-16 and 19-24. The problem its with the rear cogs.

I can take a few pics of the setup if that helps?

Tried YouTube advice with screw drivers etc, but just don't seem to be doing something correctly which is slightly embarrassing as I'm a fitter by trade lol

    Just a quick update.

€7 to reset/align gears in Halfords.

In and out in about 5 mins.
