    Hi guys,

Sorry for my complete ignorance on the matter.

I previously had a Blackberry - Im on O2 UK - and There was never any network/ data stuff to contend with. If I went over the border my bb switched to O2 IRL and worked just the same - no extra charges. (I had the bb bolt on)

Now I have a Samsing Galaxy Ace - and its all Data Roaming/ Data Packet / Wifi connectivity. I dont have a clue. Whats what? Why wont it just be easy and work on its own like my bb. I went over the border yesterday and turned off my data. I turned it on for ten minutes and messages and fb notifications came through - costing me a fiver.
So not only does it not work with romaing off - it charges me too - and Im still on O2.

    Help?

PS. For some stupid reason my email set up with the galaxy keeps saying old emails are new/unread. Any idea how to stop this?

I'm not really familiar with roaming so I can't help you much.

But, I will tell you that WiFi is wireless internet from a router/modem. It's the same way your laptop would connect to the internet at home. If you can connect to your home WiFi network, you don't have to worry about roaming charges or any other data charges (except your broadband of course). But this is only at home..or work if they let you connect.

And yeah the email things happens to me too. Try a 3rd party email app from the Market, they tend to be better. But be careful when you're downloading while roaming.
