Is there any loophole to get the full driving test within 6 months of obtaining the first learners permit?

No loop hole unfortunately that rule as it stands has been in a few years. The only exception is if you had a learner permit longer than 6 months whether before or after that rule came in.

Though no rule to say to when to apply for the test except that if you had a learner permit before april 4th 2011 and EDT rule then you can apply when ever though sitting it you still needed to have a 6 month 1st learner permit before that date before sitting the test. The 6 month rule applies for sitting the test from the date of a 1st learner permit being issued. It has to be valid for 6 months or more before sitting the test.

With regards to applying for the test, you have must have done your 12 EDT compulsory lessons before applying for the test if you got your learner permit on or after 4th April 2011. If you got your 1st learner permit/current permit before 4th of april 2011 you are good to go to apply when ever you wish as long as your 1st learner permit is more than 6 months old, doesn't matter if your current licence is a 2nd or 3rd learner permit the 6 month rule and EDT lessons do not apply to you.

Are you 100% sure I cant apply for the driving test before doing the 12 lessons?

You can apply, but you will not be assigned a date for the test until the 6 month time frame has elapsed, and you have done your 12 EDT lessons.

When you do your 12th lesson, your instructor will log all 12 as being done on the RSA website. Once that happens, you apply for your test and you will be assigned the first available date, presuming of course that you have had your learner permit for for 6 months. The first available date can be anywhere from 4-14 weeks, depending on where you apply to do your test. The RSA website gives the average wait time per test center.

You can apply for a test date before that, but its not going to do much good. You won't be given a test date. The RSA don't have crystal balls. If you apply today, they have no way of knowing if you are going to do your 12th lesson next week, next month or next year. There is no point in assigning people test dates until they meet all the criteria of sitting the actual test, which if you are still in the process of getting your 12 EDT lessons, you do not.

If you have held a licence in another country and can prove driving experience in that country, you would be exempt from the six month period.
