Is this RTE/Cadbury/Kraft Olympic poll a total crock?

Why ask people to vote for their 'Favourite Irish Olympic Moment' and then fail to mention as an option Ireland's most successful ever Olympian, Michelle Smith? Three golds and a silver medal yet she is airbrushed from history. My favourite Irish Olympic moment was staying up all night to watch Michelle win gold medal after gold medal. It was brilliant! Is this poll the biggest crock ever (their poll, on the RTE website - not THIS poll).

Is this RTE poll a total crock because it ignores Ireland's greatest ever Olympian? 15 votes

    Yes
    0% 0 votes
    No
    73% 11 votes
    Whatever
    26% 4 votes

I don't know. They never did take those medals back. Irrespective; still Ireland's greatest Olympic moment for me.

Favourite Irish Olympic moment ? Considering we do so crap in the Olympics ( this time around will be no different ) I guess that leaves us all of 3 ' moments ' to chose from.........I'm trembling with anticipation already.

Meh , coming second is just a polite way of saying someone lost.

Why did they not take the medals from Michelle Smith?

Because she never tested positive for using a banned substance.

I think Waterford Crystal should carry the flag for Ireland.

Or ever. RTE's airbrushing from her from history is a bit Stalinist though. List her as an option at least - let the people decide.

And Lance Armstrong and Stephen Roche. At least Lance seems to be trapped at last.

I despise the Jamaican bobsleigh for hogging the glory in the 1988 Winter Olympics, because they only came 30th. In the same event the same year, another Caribbean team came 29th. But Bob Marley wasn't from the Netherlands Antilles...

Was Stephen up to no good? Didn't realise.

His team doctor came out years later and stated that the entire team we're administered performance enhancing drugs. It was proven to be the case in a judicial investigation, but the statue of limitations saved Roche and his teammates.
