Sending free texts App?

    I have a SG s3 with 02, and normally i send 02 webtexts using the textroid app. There has been a prob with 02 international texts over the last week.

    Does anyone know of an app to send free or cheap texts with??

    Also does Go Sms Pro offer free texts?? or does it just use texts from your phone account, same as the normal sms app in the phone??

    Yes Cabbage is the best. The paid version (1 euro or so) keeps full conversations.

    Go SMS does not support free texts.

    I've been using Cabbage for almost a year now for my Webtexts... it's very good (still waiting for the perfect app though). The developer is good at updating it....for example the recent issue with O2 was resolve in a couple of days.

    Is use Go SMS for my regular texts. It's good and I prefer it to the stock txt app. You can only send free texts/mms to other registered GoSMS users.

    I wish someone would come up with an app that combined both apps.....best of both worlds!!

    Cabbage isn't going to solve the OP's problem as thats a problem on O2s end.

    I use go sms too after a long time with handcent, free texts to the wife who uses it too is great

    Whatsapp. brill for free international texts, needs install on other end tho:)

    Daughter going to Spain soon, she is on meteor PAYG.

    OH and myself on O2 prepay.

    What would be the best apps for free cals and/or Texts.

    Viber or Skype would be good for calls or texts. Cabbage/Whatsapp or other instant messaging.

    But they would only benefit you and OH. As your daughter is on PAYG she will be robbed with 3G data charges to use these apps. AFAIK Meteor are the only network that doesn't have roaming charges, so you can ring her at no cost to her.

    By right you should all be on same network to benefit from free calls and texts.

    I use both Cabbage and GoSMS. However since the latest update to GoSMS, I cannot sent free chat messages to other GoSMS contacts and they cannot send either. Is that a bug or is it a change to GoSMS? I have sent error reports to them but no reply so far.
