    Folks,

I was just about to click "Buy it now" on this, but thought I'd check with you clever guy and gals first.

    Is it a quality device?

Will the PVR work with an external spinning portable hard drive?

    Thanks

    Corglass

That box is NOT FreeSat, just a FTA box, so no 7 day program guide for Sat, just now/next.

Yes it will work. There is no combined Freesat and Saorview approved box.

It will pick up the Saorview channels and the FTA Satellite British Channels. You wont just get the 7 day information on the satellite side, just now and next. But it will work including HD Channels and all in one channel list.

The box pictured is a Golden Media Unibox, but the box is a Ferguson Ariva 120 according to the listing. It will do the same, but you might point that out to the seller!

Thanks STB. I actually went through another thread while I was waiting.
It seems like Ferguson Ariva 250 Combo from satsklep.pl is the best option at 89.58 euro landed here in Ireland. Newer machine, newer hadware and firmware.

I'm not sure if it has the 7 day listings?

No combo box does officially. 7 day on Saorview and next on Satellite. There are wifi dongles available that will allow for youtube connectivity if you cant hardwire into your router. There is a thread in the terrestrial forum on them. There is also a PC channel editor available on the ferguson website.

The one you linked to had the Satellite Dish and UHF aerial kit with it. You have these already ?

Yea, I've the sat from an old Sky connection. I also have a coax cable to the attic, so I'll just need the Digital antenna.

If I run a CAT5 to the Ariva 250, will I get 7 day listings? I want to avoid wifi if possible.
