lcd screens versus led screens

    is there much of a difference between lcd screens versus led screens..i am buying a new pc and will be getting a screen also..possibly looking at getting a 21 inch screen?can someone tell me what the difference is?

    I think the main advantage with LED is space and power saving. I think the picture is marginally better on an LED. The only real difference with LED is it's a different way of lighting up the screen. The LCD part (the actual picture) can be exactly the same.

    I think it's more important to get a monitor that has DVI. You will see the difference between DVI and VGA. Did you have a monitor in mind?

    not really any monitor would do..it will basically be for a home pc for surfing the web etc....i see there are still monitors for sale with just vga connections...so i should get one with a dvi connection and vga instead?

    As big as you can afford. You can go up to 27" for not a lot more money. You'll probably have multiple inputs on a monitor like that too.
