Wheel Studs

I'm looking for some wheel studs. I was told they may be off an old VW but I'm not sure. I included a picture of the wheel so someone with better knowledge may be able to direct me. The studs are tapered and the length under the head appears to be 14mm. Width of thread appears to be about 12mm from what can determine with measuring tape.
The head of the stud takes an 18mm socket.

I've tried breakers yards and tyre dealers with no joy. Anyone have any suggestions, I'd appreciate any help, I need 8 but I'd take 1 at this stage.

They do look similar to VW one alright. They take a 17mm socket though.
18mm head wheel nuts aren't used for any car I can think of.

That is one seriously rounded bolt

Agreed, I've worked with 17s and 19s but never an 18. Could be because it's rounded it takes an 18.

    Any ideas of the pitch?

it took some effort to get it out, ended up having to heat it up with a torch. It was badly rusting anyway. I'm thinking the reason it's 18mm is because the previous owner thought it would be a good idea to paint the studs, masking the rust....?

Sorry I don't know the pitch atm, as I don't have anything to measure it with accurately. I would only be guessing.

Or because an 18 was used its now rounded:eek:

@OP, did the stud break? If not then the stud in the first pic is much shorter then any car wheel stud.

If they are from a trailer then they may be specific to the trailer.

No the stud did not break, they are all that length, I'm thinking they might be these:

    or

    But I'm not sure?

When I showed the stud to my tyre guy, he said straight away it was from an old vw, most likely a beetle, but I wasn't convinced as he had not seen the wheel.

Looking closer at the pic of the wheel......he's spot on, they are original VW beetle wheels/hubs.

So if I can convince them to ship to Ireland, which they don't atm, I might not be far off?
