Teeth bonding v veneers

    Hi,
I have wanted to get veneers for a long time however as a student they are currently out of reach for me.

A friend was telling me that bonding might be a short term option for me. There are no major issues with my teeth they are just worn at the edges, me two front teeth are perfect - well close enough, but the two one either side (4) are rounded at the edges and some of the side ones are kind of pointed.

They are not noticeable at all when my teeth are closed together but I notice them when they are open (I actually have quite a few people complement me on my teeth) but it bothers me and I get quite paranoid about people looking at them.

From what I said do you think bonding would work? And roughly how much would it cost per tooth? I know that you cant tell for sure by me just writing this but any idea is appreciated.

Depends why the teeth are worn& if there's enough space in your bite to build out the teeth. The pointed ones may be canines?
Visit a dentist (for a checkup at least), they'll advise you and give a quotation if bonding is a viable option. Cost of bonding might be in or around the price of a routine filling, depends. Shouldn't run into thousands though!;)

They are worn because when I was younger I would grind my teeth. I now wear a night guard to stop that. And also I used to bite solid things with my teeth and using them as tools to open things like stuck bottle caps.

I made an appointment with my dentist for a check up and cleaning so I'm going to find out a bit more them.

I didn't think they would be so cheap!

Your bite will dictate a lot. Also, both veneers and bonding are very dependant on a good thickness of enamel.
Grinding/toothwear can be tricky; it's good you're wearing a mouthguard though. Also that you're no longer using your teeth as tools to open things!

I think the enamel might be an issue the bottom of my teeth are starting to become kind of see through.

    Thanks for your help
