    Hey all,

A mate and I were discussing our training plans for the winter and he suggested looking into home trainers. I've done a little googling for them and they seem grand.

But was wondering how they actually work, because what I've found on them seems to just be technical jargon... Would I be correct in staying with these trainers you set it at a resistance and just cycle? Just like an exercise bike?

Is there ones out there, where you could set up routes, so I could map a route online(mapmyride) and upload it into the trainer?

Sorry if I'm not explaining myself well :o

Some have a controller that comes to the handlebars where you can change resistance on the fly (when you are on the bike).
