A much maligned horse who was a star. Take out his runs on dirt and he was an ultra consistent top class GP1 performer. 10 GP 1 wins and the world record for the most prizemoney won. 5 GP 1 wins in Australia and 5 in Europe. He won 5 GP 1s out of 7 for AOB at 10f on grass and finished 2nd in the other two where jockey error and a long season were factors. 4th in an Arc was his only other failure to win on grass in Europe. His history in Oz speaks for itself.

Tough as teak horse who was campaigned hard. Just fell short of being the mega star that was hoped when he first came up from the Southern Hemisphere.
But no real shame in 'only' having a 50% strike rate in G1s over his last dozen races.

What the fcuk is this bullsh1t?
Whatever the faults of MVOB and Coolmore back in the 70s and 80s, the crew currently in charge are continually keeping classic winners in training as older horses and have proven time and time that they are not afraid of defeats, often taking on their conquerors multiple times. Sudden injury retirements after 4 wins from 4 is no longer part of the Ballydoyle modus operandi, thankfully.
And yep I know there are some exceptions like Holy Roman Emperor and Footsteps in The Sand but for every one of them theres about a dozen like Dylan Thomas, Rip Van Winkle, Cape Blanco, SNA, Duke Of Marmalade and SoYouThink turning up for every 10/12F G1 going.

I've admired his penis from afar.

    I predict many satisfied mares.
