Bravia HDD Rec Question

Have a query before I go and buy a HDD for recording onto from my Bravia.

Can it run with just USB Power? ie if I get a small 120gb HDD with USB only connection, will it run it?

I have a Philips 250GB drive that works on the laptop with just the USB Cable (although it has a power socket), but when I connect up to the TV, it wont power it up.

I dont really want to have another thing plugged in all day long in addition to the TV/Sat box/Internet Router etc.

    Thanks,

I use a 60GB WD Passport HDD on my Bravia and have test recorded. This is a 2 1/2" inch drive and has no external power possibility.

On my first trial I with TV picture on, the TV picture was getting a lot of interference , luckily I had a USB cable extender, and when I moved the drive a bit farther away I no longer had any interference.

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦
