Hi All. Just wondering could anyone advise me on the following matter.

Last May (2011) I finished a 4 year degree in Construction Technology, straight away I got a job but I had to be self employed to get the job. I have worked various jobs since then as been self employed. In the last 3 months I have been getting very little work (€200 a week).

I am very interested in Sports and was thinking of doing a one year sports course in a PLC College in September. I have never claimed any state benefit in my life, so I go back to college would I be able to claim any benefit like back to education etc. I will have to go on social welfare in the next few weeks as I cant go on been self employed as there is no work there. I would rather be doing something and earn my social welfare than stay at home.

I'll be 23 at the end of August. I know I could be too young to claim anything. Any help be really appreciated

    Thanks
    D

If you already hold a degree you won't get Back To Education allowance if you are looking to do a PLC course. You have to be moving up in your qualifications.

Can you looking into doing the course on a part-time?
    Springboard might be an option:

    OR

Maybe you could apply for a grant? I don't know?
