All The Way Round 2012 will take place on the weekend of August 4th to August 6th 2012. Its a 3-day event for Motor enthusiasts, which circles our beautiful country taking in some of the finer views and roads available, whilst also raising some much needed funds for one one of Ireland's most deserving charities - Barretstown.

More information on this years event can be found here, and we welcome all levels of participation, even if its only to give us a beep of encouragement if you meet us en-route.

Our main stops are in South Dublin, and in Sligo so if you live close to either of these and want to meet up when we're in town, just let us know and we'll see what we can do.

In the build up to the event we are running some exciting competitions with some great prizes, kindly provided by our official supporters so please remember to check here and our own forum regularly for your chance to win, whilst supporting ATWR and Barretstown.

Any questions feel free to post them here.

    EDITED to add MyCharity.ie link - www.mycharity.ie/event/atwr2012/

This years Annual ATWR Dyno Day will take place in Couture Auto, who have kindly given us discounts for everybody looking to take part.

It is taking place this Saturday, July 7th in Couture Auto, Dunboyne, Co.Meath, starting at 10am and running throughout the day.

The Prices are 2WD €50 and 4WD is €65, there is a good discount on this because of ATWR. the normal price for 4WD is €100, the normal 2WD price escapes me just now.

So if you want to take part pop your name on this thread. Anybody is welcome and we hope to use it as a chance to see some nice cars, and also meet some of the Motors regulars.

Last year myself, GaryITR and Draffodx had our legs waxed for the charity, we may do something else like that this year.

A dyno run is a window into how healthy your car is and how well it's running, you get BHP, Torque figures and AFR's. We welcome anyone to run their car, or even just call down and say hello and meet some of the regulars. There'll be some nice cars on show, including an ITCC race car and a VW Gold MkII that we expect to get the biggest performance figures on the day.

I'd highly recommend anyone interested in a bit of a motors meets to head to the Dyno day this Saturday, I've been to a few and their always great craic and a different way to meet the motors regulars than the midway meets.

Having the focus on the dyno and the results of each car means everyone gets in on the craic much more easily also. In the past we've had everything from Fiestas to big engined beemers on the dyno. And it didn't matter which it was it's always good craic waiting for the result to pop up.

Also, anyone like to make this interesting and guess the result of their car?

    Looking forward to this.

I done ATWR last year, and I have to say it was a cracking weekend. I also got to take in some pretty cool places and sights that I probably wouldn't have gotten to (Fr Ted's house was one!)

I also ended up buying a car on last year's trip off one of the other lads, in a rash moment of perfection!

Well worth the few quid entry fee, and as always it goes to a great cause.

Is there a myCharity page this year? Might be worth linking to if there is?

That's pretty good for the Mazda isn't it? What are they from the factory?

The Mazda's claimed to be 127bhp. I had a feeling that it might be a little bit more as it wasn't a major step down from my old car and this confirms it.

Hi to everyone signed up for All the Way Round 2012,

I just want to say thanks a million for taking part in this fantastic event to raise money for Barretstown!

If anyone is planning any fundraising events before the trip like a table quiz, headshave, waxing or whatever it may be please contact me for posters, sponsorship cards and t-shirts. My email is bernie.connell@barretstown.org or phone 045 863134.

At Barretstown we help to rebuild the lives of children affected by childhood cancer and their families, through a life changing programme of Therapeutic Recreation, which is entirely free of charge for families; food, accommodation, transport and medical expenses are included.
If you have a few minutes please have a look at our dvd here www.youtube.com/barretstown

We really do appreciate your support.

    Thanks,
    Bernie :)

This is kicking off this Friday, most of those taking part will be in Limerick Friday night preparing for the early start on Friday morning and can meet up with anyone who's around in Limerick Friday night, then they'll be in Dublin Saturday night and Sligo Sunday night.

Be sure to give them as much support as possible, its a hard three days out of anyone's life in aid of a great cause.

Best of luck lads and lassies!
