Sky+ Remote broke, any cheap alternatives

Hi Guys,

As the title says, my sky+ remote broke, went to argos and the're 30 quid which is a joke for a remote.

Is there any place to buy them for cheap or can i buy a different univeral remote that will work just as well.

The remote is this model

Sky remotes are pretty readily available. For example, I know that Argos and Dunnes both sell them.

Ye i said in the Original Post that i seen them in Argos and that 30 is too much for a remote :P.

Any body use a universal remote that allows me to record view delete etc

Hi Kenno90,

There's a couple of reliable Irish sellers on eBay who have them at reasonable money. I had to replace my own last week and bought one from there for €10.99 + €3.00 postage. Had it in the post in two days.

Ebay as stated above or you could possibly pick up a bargain over on Adverts.ie

If you've had your Sky+ box less than a year, the remote is covered by the warranty - Sky may deny it is but on the contract it says 'equipment' which includes the remote - so they should replace it free of charge. I had it out with them and they agreed to refund the money I paid for a new one.

Other than that, as per the other posts - ebay all the way!

Thanks guys bought one from amazon , its the HD version but you can program it to work on an old sky box
