Ok must be TV! rang Sony and was taken through settings on tv ,had to reset, great game played no problem for 2 days (afraid to turn tv off) but eventually turned tv off and back to square one green gameplay.Borrowed an xbox and used our own cables etc, game worked perfectly.Gave our xbox to lender and xbox worked perfectly no green. 1st we thought new tv then we thought new xbox, but we need neither just advice as to why this is happening.

could be the xbox going out on its way to rrod.

When you took the xbox for repair it probably got a knock on the way.
This can get an xbox working temporarily (wont last)
I saw alot of this when I used to do repairs.

Just use it as normal for now and only worry if it happens again.
At least you know where you stand then.

Then again it could have simply been a loose av cable,
You never really know untill you have the console infront of you

what kind of cable are you using OP? Unlikely to be the case here but a VGA cable with a bent pin can cause what you describe.
