This topic may have been done before so if it has I apologise. Does anyone no sites or destination for people on wheelchairs to go on a holiday. I have been to matagorda before in the Canary Island and was okay but some of peurto del carmen was horrible to try and get around on your own. I was also in Atlanta once which was lovely except for the 9 hour flight and not really been able to go to the toilet comfortable.

I know that airoplanes have limited space but does anyone know of any airplane carriers with wider than normal toilets or doors.

    Thanks

    Hi Martin,

Did you have any luck with this query?

I'm thinking of organising a holiday for my father who's in a wheelchair and am looking for some tips or advice.

    Thanks

I'm looking for answers or advice on this also as I use a wheelchair. I did a quick google search earlier and came up with this in the Tripadvisor forum.
What I was more interested in was finding a company or travel agent who would look after airport transfers and that kind of thing.

Yes that's what I'm hoping for too.

My father doesn't travel much and when he does he hates to feel like a burden so am looking for an agency or org to help plan as much as possible and recommend hotels etc etc.

I know Rome won't be fantastic in terms of accessibility but surely there must be someone out there who deals with this?

If I find anything I'll post back.

I'll do the same. My google search yesterday came up with a couple of companies but they are both in the UK. This would probably be ok if you were going to fly out from Belfast. I would prefer an Irish company and flying from Dublin. We don't plan to go for another fourteen months but if I find anything I'll let you know.
