Newbie with q about luggage going through-

I am flying from Cork to London on Monday, and I'm staying overnight in London. I fly out from London on the Tuesday with a different airline. Will my luggage automatically go throughto the 2nd plane? I don't want it to as I need it when I stay overnight in London

    Nope.

If you are staying overnight you must bring your luggage with you.

Airlines and airports won't hold luggage overnight for security reasons.

Just ask the check in staff when you're checking in at Cork. I was also concerned about something like this and they will tell you what the story is.

What airport are you flying into OP? Heathrow and Gatwick both have left luggage facilities where you can store your luggage overnight, and pick it up the next day before you fly. It is 8.50 per bag per 24 hours. The major train stations have them too.
