With so much of the stage along the coast today, there is a good chance some echelons will be formed within the peloton, and that could lead to a few riders loosing time on this flat stage.

Only thing that could liven up this stage is some vicious crosswinds along the coast causing echelons etc.

Lotto would have been extremely disappointed if Greipel hadn't won today since he had such a good lead-out train going, and that Cav wasn't there.

I noticed Greipel didn't contest the intermediate sprint.

Thought: either he's saving his legs for the stage win, or he's in trouble already.

I guess I know which it is now.


Surprised not to see more of this. Cav didn't bother with a lot of the intermediate sprints on the flat stages last year IIRC, but he's going for them this year
Goss, too, is trying to do both.

Might be a rethink after today.

Apparently Sagan did some of his trademark magic on the bike behind the crash to avoid going down.

How did Cav crash, looked at the replay a few times and Cav managed to navigate around it. Hunter took a big spill, seems to me like Cav crashed after the big spill.

I think your looking at Boasson Hagen, both his and cav's jerseys look very similar from afar.
