With so much of the stage along the coast today, there is a good chance some echelons will be formed within the peloton, and that could lead to a few riders loosing time on this flat stage.

Only thing that could liven up this stage is some vicious crosswinds along the coast causing echelons etc.

    Lead down to 7'00"
With the peloton at the 63km mark, it is 7'00" behind the three escapees. For the time being, Arashiro is still the virtual leader of the Tour after starting the stage ranked 54th overall 2'03" behind Cancellara.

Aye I should have said anything that can liven up all but the last 10km! :) A Cav win would be nice!

I was going by sight,he had gotten past Goss but looked as If Goss just caught him again

Cav just crosses the line with the regular sore face on him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,763 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

    Shame, good finish ruined.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,507 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

Greipel looks like a tank of a man!

Lotto would have been extremely disappointed if Greipel hadn't won today since he had such a good lead-out train going, and that Cav wasn't there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,573 ✭✭✭✭ednwireland

goss is starting to need to convert one of these

    shame for cav

congrats to greipel he had to win that with that train in front of him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,145 ✭✭✭BQQ

I noticed Greipel didn't contest the intermediate sprint.

Thought: either he's saving his legs for the stage win, or he's in trouble already.

I guess I know which it is now.

Surprised not to see more of this. Cav didn't bother with a lot of the intermediate sprints on the flat stages last year IIRC, but he's going for them this year
Goss, too, is trying to do both.

Might be a rethink after today.

Apparently Sagan did some of his trademark magic on the bike behind the crash to avoid going down.

How did Cav crash, looked at the replay a few times and Cav managed to navigate around it. Hunter took a big spill, seems to me like Cav crashed after the big spill.

I think your looking at Boasson Hagen, both his and cav's jerseys look very similar from afar.

Yeah looks so like him though.

They had coverage on ITV4 showing Sagan staying on and managing to keep going
