    Hi all,
I have a problem with the Wife's Mitsubishi 2.0 DiD. I took it to a Mitsubishi main dealer to have a service & the timing belt changed (105km on the clock).
the service interval for the timing belt is 110km, so I was being cautious & got it changed.( the car has full MMC service history btw). Got the car back the same day & drove home. Next morning started the car ( which was difficult to start btw & plumes of blue/ white smoke poured out the exhaust. I got back in touch with the dealer & he told me that the mechanic had ommited to clean out the throttle body, bring it in & we'll do it, so brought it back & they cleaned it out, was advised there may be some smoke for the next couple of days while it cleans out.
A few days later it was still very hard to start & still very smoky so I called the dealer again. Bring it back in they said.
They had it for a couple of days & called me to say one of the fuel injectors was faulty, just a coincidence they said, they got the injectors re-conned and refitted them, just the same. Mitsubishi advised them to try the wiring loom that feeds the injectors, they changed that, still the same.
They have had the car for 3 weeks now & cannot seem to fix it (THE CAR WAS RUNNING PERFECTLY BEFORE HE SERVICE & TIMIN BELT CHANGE)
they claim not to have done anything to the car to cause the fault but i don't want to end up with a huge bill for labour & parts.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as the Wife's hopping mad!

This would be the 2.0 VW TDI engine, that itself is renowned for its flakey injectors.

    I'd dump her....;-)

(Seriously, I'd push hard with the dealer -- especially if you normally service it there..... maybe they messed up the timing belt change --- i.e. out a cog or something....)

    Hi Colm_mcm,
Yes , it is the VW Eng, but i don't believe in coincedences. They seem to be walking around in the dark on this & the reconditioned injectors didn't fix the problem. It already cost me €600 to get the service & TB done.

Appears to be a timing issue.

I wonder are all these distributor partnerships a good thing with mechanics working on components they may not be familiar with?

Timing is what I initially said tonthe dealer, and they say theybhave re-timed the car a number of times & are satisfied it is correct, where do I go from here?:(
