    Hi Folks,

On our package holiday I never changed the dropdown box or it didn't change so my girlfriend is down as a Mr., will this cost me dearly? Anyone experience this? Big issue/charge or say nothing and or rock on to the airport saying I didn't notice all other names/ spelling etc is correct

    Many thanks

The only reason they want to know the gender of an adult is because the airline wants to calculate the weight of the passengers in order to plan fuel requirements, there are different average weights used for men and women. One extra woman and one less man isn't going to make much difference on a holiday flight so it isn't worth worrying about. Women bring more luggage on holidays so at the end of the day the overall average weight on holidays flights (person+luggage) is probably the same for both sexes!

Remember that holiday reps are out to make extra bucks and they are on to every scam going so I would not mention it or they could decide to make it a big (and expensive) deal. Even Ryanair don't make an issue about it (according to a recent thread) so just forget about it.

Anyone else do this before? Should I definitely not ring Sunway as to do so would just incurr an unnecessary charge

I booked a holiday with Sunway in March to Lanzarote for my mother and father, I saw on the email afterwards my mother was down as Mr, we never notified them and nothing ever came of it and they had a nice holiday and Aer Lingus never brought it up or anything.

It is probably illegal for them to charge extra or make a big deal about it as certain transsexual people may identify as a different sex so I am sure it would be covered by legislation covering discrimination on the grounds of sexuality.
