At 8am our time, there will be an announcement by researchers at the large hadron collider. They are expected to announce that they have evidence of the existence of the "god particle."

If you think the human race has advanced a lot in the past 20 years, then gee-whiz, you ain't seen nothing yet, if they have in fact found the god particle.

Finding it would open up the possibility of:

    - A free or low cost energy source for all of mankind, which would greatly speed up the rate of progress and make all our lives better.
    - Flying cars/hoverboards in the not too distant future
    - Teleportation would be a step closer
    - Huge medical advances

Good lord I'm shaking thinking of some of the possibilities. I'm trying to keep my feet on the ground (pun intended) in case they haven't found squat but its so exciting. I know I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.
