Overpriced by 300/400 Euros I'd say

Its a nice machine - got to play around with one recently when a friend was shopping for one. But, the guy in the store pointed out that its pretty much the same computer on the inside as its cheaper plastic cased brother.....you are paying extra for the casing, which may or may not be worth it to you. Friend went with the plastic - real nice machine, good screen and good sound.

For that money, i'd want an i7, 8GB of RAM and at least 750GB hard drive.

Vaio are over priced , bought one for a grand a few years ago , within a few months there were better spec laptops at half the price

That's pretty much the case with almost any laptop you buy.....there's always something better coming along. I find vaio to be pretty well built and durable, had one for a number of years and the only thing that went was the battery. Bigger hard drive space is good I guess, but honestly, I have a 250 gb drive and it's not even close to being full and it's used a lot for work......I'm guessing unless you store a lot of movies/ music you won't even need that much.
