If someone from say 60 - 80 years a go suddenly turned up on your door step what films would you show them?
So do you slowly bring them up to speed with different films from the proceeding decades until modern day or do you show them all the 5 star films now and ruin them for all the lower rated ones?

To be honest I wouldn't show them any movies I'd go "How the f*ck did you travel forward in time?" And probably make a movie about that. :pac:

But I'd probably show them the rise in 3d (again) and how Hollywood is churning out tiresome cliché'd crap to make a quick buck. That there are no 'current classics' other than cgi'gasmic bore-a-thons.

Oh and then bore him/her with a few indie movies.

I'm sure there have been a few diamonds in the rough...but can't really think of any at the mo (that 3pm slump is lasting a good while!).

Well that's the most downright incorrect statement I've read in a while.

    Back to the Future II

Should be enough to send them insane trying to figure out what is going on.

Yeah, I thought that when I typed it just hard to think of a few at the mo...

I'm of course referring to Avatar....anything else converted to 3D.....uh....Prometheus....Um....Feck I'm tired!

2001 a Space Odyssey and Gladiator.
Also something that he/she could relate too to see if the producers of the movie got it right.

 there are rakes of great movies being made outside of the usual popcorn muncher cgi stuff, and some great blockbusters still too.

For sheer overload value I'd like to show them the Lord of the Rings trilogy. They were a great demonstration of the correct use of film making on a HUGE scale, extensive CGI/effects work while still retaining an articulate and interesting story that concentrated on characters *cough*Michael Bay*cough*. Just to show them how far along massive "event" movies have come along. They were there from the very beginning: Ben Hur, Birth of a Nation, etc.

I would show them the Watchmen, let them go back in time and make it happen.

    The Matrix.

Then I'd provide him with a blue pill, and a red pill. :D

    Just cause.

    I'd show them The Goonies.

    Because it's awesome, that's why.

What kind of asshole futuristic trolls are you guys, honest to *insert deity here*!

Clearly if you want to bamboozle an inadvertent time traveler you show them Primer, followed by a lengthy powerpoint presentation trying to explain it. If you're confused by it, surely they're going to break down in tears of pure confusion!
