I'll try and make it short..

I recently put an ad up on donedeal for my netbook: http://www.donedeal.co.uk/for-sale/computers/3530564 (Plug  )

Two days in I get an email from a woman wanting to know more about it, I send her some more specs and other info about the netbook. She replies and agrees to buy it via Paypal which is not problem.
    This is where it starts.

    1. She is not in Ireland, but on a UK navel ship in the North sea apparently.
    2. She wants it delivered to an address in OYO STATE, Nigeria which she emailed me.

At this point I had my suspicions, but she wanted to pay and once I had the money I didn't care less where the netbook was going.
So I send a Paypal request, she then confirms that she payed it but on my side it still says "Pending" and its been like that for nearly 24 hours.

I sent her an email this morning about the situation, this was her "ahem" reply:
    Hi there,
    Payment has been made.
I just double check my paypal account now, It shows that the money has been deducted from my account to yours but the payment might show pending in your account now because the payment is been held by paypal so it will only fully become available in your account when you ship the package and email the shipment tracking number or any form of proof of shipment to paypal, once paypal receive proof of shipment from you, they will release the money to your account.
This person must think I've never used Paypal in my life...
I haven't replied to that last email yet.
I'm going to end this transaction, anyone have any thoughts?

Did you get any suspicious looking emails that claim to be from paypal?

No paypal emails, just her own email (wont post it here)

After I cancelled the money request, she sent me this email:
f that be the case, you will have to send the money back in my account because i have just tried retrieving the money sent back in my account, it says payment which has been charged completely from buyer's account to seller's account can not be retrieved without a formal notice from seller to paypal saying he or she want the transaction canceled.
so kindly email paypal asap so they can have my money sent back to my account asap because i am now experiencing problem signing in to my account because of this.
To be clear, I never recieved any money, my Paypal account balance reads €0.00 details attached
I haven't replied to any emails from her today yet.

Surely this is just a genuine mistake,a naval service personnell based in Nigeria has to be of good standing.
Op ship the netbook with a with compliments note to this dear lady and your account will be handsomely rewarded by a Nigerian princess.

No doubt there, she's trying to scam you out of your money. Tell her to raise a dispute with PayPal, they can sort "it" out, of course there's nothing to sort out anyway :pac:

That's a pretty common scam that palys out in a few different ways if you google it - friend got the same when he advertised a laptop over in the UK.

Without wishing to appear racist, the moment the name Nigeria was mentioned you should have run away.... the amount of spam I receive from that country is mind boggling. :D

Did you get any suspicious looking emails that claim to be from paypal?

Just checked again, and low and behold, the dodgiest looking emails you will see.

First off, it was a person on behalf of paypal. Even though I know paypal send out automatic emails and never by person (except customer service)

Second, it even showed the address I should send the netbook too, but how would paypal know that?

Thirdly, reading through, it was uncanny how much it resembled by back and fourth emails in the way it was written.
It looked similar to a real paypal email I compared it too, except for the bad English and slightly different layout.

And thats the end of that...
Anyone interested in a netbook? :P
