Audi is claiming its upcoming all-electric sports car, the R8 e-tron, has set a new world record for electric vehicles after the car lapped the 20.8km Nürburgring race track in Nürburg, Germany, in eight minutes and nine seconds.

Still would rather have the "normal" R8. The range simple isnt big enough with the limited amount of charge points available at present

Feck that, if I could afford one of then I could afford to have a v10 r8 with me at the track days. Can you imagine the torque out of the etron!
