Hi games i sell games from time to time on ebay

Ok i have a big problem as a guy got 6 games of me and wont's to met up in person as he does not wont to pay the shipping costs of €6.50 a game.

Each game sold for €1. And the buyer has no feedback what so ever

Eg i make my money from the shipping like many a ebay seller

Now the person in Q told me he's going to leave me bad feedback on ebay over this because i am refusing to met him in person.

So what can i do about this problem as i will not met up with him in person

Relist the item and if he leaves bad feedback just get onto ebay and they will remove it. he is being unreasonable in this case.

    Thanks for that

Its just that he sent in the emails that i have been the unreasonable one never had a problem selling things on ebay on to this

Well for starters you shouldn't really have charged €6.50 per game for p+p in the first place, but that's besides the point. You did not have collection as an option for the buyer right? Then you should tell him you would rather cancel the transaction completely because you cannot meet with him in person. It's not unreasonable to not meet someone when you said postage only. If he leaves you bad feedback without any further explanation you'll need to raise a dispute on ebay.

if you're charging €6.50 a game that's a disgrace, It's the reason i avoid buying off Irish buyers

Have to make money some where on €1 euro games

Ya collection is not an option just post

But i just can't believe this problem

Well good luck with a dispute if he won't agree to cancel for you. You might consider selling the games for 4 quid and leaving postage 2 though in future, I'm sure you'll still sell, and issues like this wouldn't arise.

to be fair, whatever you asked for postage, whether it was 1 euro or 50 euro the guy had the option to not purchase or at least ask if collection was an option?

just tell the guy straight out to go and jump if he is not willing to uphold his end of the agreement that he signed up to when he clicked on the buy it now button.

that being said i dont agree with the extortionate postage as i also sell on ebay but as long as i dont lose on postage i try to make it as fair as possible.

if i went to my local shop and the guy told me that i could have the shopping for 1 euro but the bag was going to cost 5 euro i know i would go elsewhere.

    exactly

    exactly

my point was that the guy should have gone elsewhere and not bought his shopping and then argue over the price of the bag when he knew full well the price before he started shopping.

He should have done but charging €6.50 to post 1 game is extortionate
The OP doesn't have to meet the buyer with the games as this was never in the options, i'd say he's just trying to get out of the deal himself.

You are circumventing ebay fees by using such a sale tactic and if he reports you to ebay you could have your account looked into.

You are likely to get poor ratings for P&P cost which will push even further into the 'bad seller' category within ebay.

The days of sale price low, P&P price high are over.

Sorry but i will add i have over 300 positive selling feedback on ebay over the last year for 6.50 post to anywhere in the world i might add as well. To make it worse everyone does this on ebay. I wonted to get a PS3 battery for my controller and it was nearly €12 to post form the Uk so are they right in looking for that much to post a battery ? And that was the going price for at lest 10 sellers

I asked for help over a problem now this has gone of topic and giving out about how much i charge for post

    To go back on topic

The guy has now mailed me

i'll pay 4.50 for the postage of the two items plus the 27 cent for the games

Really what is this guy on i have told him to cancel as i have never had as much carry on to sell a game in my life

Of course people are going to question a seller who blatantly overcharges of P&P. Where are you selling from and to? Presumably in Ireland to a guy in Ireland?

The answer to your question is obvious and simple, since you did not offer buyer pick up, you do not have to agree to the buyers terms. You can start the unpaid bidder process in the Resolution Centre or you can ignore the buyer and relist.

has it been longer than 4 days? As the man said, Raise the unpaid item case and be done with it, as soon as the case is raised then no feedback can be left by either side so nothing to worry about it.

Please dont be going around saying that everyone overcharges for postage on ebay cause its just not true and you'll get peoples back up straight away. remember you asked for the help.

This is sale tactic is common worldwide. Legitimate costs quoted by Irish sellers are also high due to high post costs here, this is why I cannot sell on ebay, I know I will not have buyers as the overall price is not competitive. But this tactic is going on as long as I remember, and probably worse with other countries, e.g. a fair bit of his real postage costs were in this 6.50 compared to say a Uk seller charging 6.50.

There is a UK shop I get stuff from who charge something like £6.50 for up to 25kg of stuff delivered in a box the size of a washing machine.

I would simply buy it where it was cheapest. ebay.ie still does not allow you to sort items by price "lowest including shipping", which .co.uk, .com and others allow you to. Its ridiculous to not have this option. All I am interested in is the combined price, high p&p does not bother me, I understand why its done.

If the OP had a twin brother selling the same games with more reasonable quoted postage, and wanted to make the exact same profit, then he would have to charge more to the buyer. This is why many of the items I buy do tend to have overvalued postage, the sellers can afford to offer them at a lower overall price, and this is why I buy from them.

P&P does not just mean the price of the stamps too, so 6.50 may not be enough for ebay to start investigating.

The eBay app allows you to sort price and shipping.

Sorry guys i was wrong about the 6.50 thats how much i charge to send to the EU

ITs 4.50 in ireland which is far

Anyway this seller ended up paying me in the end and i sent both games in the same jiffy bag

Now i got a reply from the buyer that he is leaving me bad feedback because i sent both in the same jiffy bag

This guy has been hell to deal with i report him now on ebay for the problems that i had to deal with from him

Never again i will deal with some one who lives 7 mins away from me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,575 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Listen, you insisted on 2 separate P&Pcharges for the games. He is right to expect separate packages.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,959 ✭✭✭Jesus Shaves

You still charged him €9 to post something which would have cost 4 at most
He has every right to leave bad feedback about the p&p

maybe you should refund some of the postage to him and ask him to change the feedback.

i once had a guy email me with a list of my items that he wanted to buy but wanted to deal offline? a risk i hear you say.

maybe but he was willing to get the train from tralee to mallow to meet and exchange so i agreed. the guy spent about 300 euro in all and that was after i took down the items and cut the guy a good deal for buying bulk.

everyone was happy and ebay and paypal didnt get their pound of flesh

look after your customers and they will come back

    NO, no he doesnt.
P&P was displayed before the sale, buyer didnt have to click buy it now if they didnt accept/

Also, registered post in Ireland begins at €5.50.........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,575 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

The seller charged two separate P&P charges of €4.50, it is reasonable for the buyer to expect two separate packages.

It is irrelevant to talk about registered post when the seller did not use or offer registered post. That is akin to saying courier prices in Ireland begin at €9!

Of course he does, that's the beauty of ebays feedback system
