Hey, I have noticed my GPU is starting to get quite hot and my pc in general so I am going to clean it out for dust, was wondering if an air compressor is the quickest easiest way to do it, and if anyone could tell me where is the best place to aquire one, thanks.

Should be able to get a can of compressed air at any hardware store.

Dealz in Athlone (so presumably else where) had compressed air for €1.59 a few weeks back anyways

How dirty is your PC? Reminds me of a video I saw a while ago. Did someone post it here or was it in one of my random strolls through youtube?

On the original topic, cans of compressed are the best for portability without being overpowered or generating a lot of static.

You know the ones for pumping up tyres at petrol stations?

Would they work - only half joking.

They'd be too powerful. They'd probably knock bits off your PC!

Not a good idea to use a compressor, the air contains moisture which gathers in the bottom of the tank, they need bleeding regularly. You could unknowingly be blowing water all over your motherboard.

you laugh, when I was younger my job was cleaning PC's like that. 20+ at a time. They'd come off Oil rigs off the coast of Africa.

I've also inhaled copious amounts of Benzene to clean paint off the walls of a house.

my dad is a simple man :o

Everyone says dont use a hoover....has that ever stopped me? Never had an issue. That said, we do have an air compressor in the house though I never once thought to use it :p

    That video is hilarious though.

Well it could have been lead paint or asbestos lined walls!

They say that vacuum cleaners are very bad for static. I've cleaned off fan grills plenty of times but I don't think it would be great for cleaning out that dusty PCI slot.

Small air compressor with a regulator would do the job.

Try Harold Engineering in Rathcoole D24
