UPC EPC2203 Modem - Login/pswd required

    Hi folks,

Anyone able to let me know the default login and password for the UPC EPC2203 modem ? I've the older 30Mb broadband package.

I've tried everything I've come across on google or know myself, none of them work at all.

The usual, admin as the login, W2402 as the password, or w2402, or atlanta, epc2203, or variations of all the above with and without logins etc., Completely stumped at the moment :(

Appreciate if anyone could pass me on the info if they know themselves, or via PM if for some reason you don't want it public or something.

    Thanks

PS., I searched on this forum too and found nothing either.

Is the default username & password on the base of the modem/router? (Or is that just the network username & password, I don't recall).

Are you sure it is the default, that it hasn't been changed?

Also - which browser are you using? I've had problems with Safari and logging into some routers. Since Chrome uses the same rendering engine (Webkit) it might have the same issue.

It's the actual cable modem/router, the one UPC don't give you access too so no, no login/pswd underneath.

Tried chrome, opera, firefox and IE along with safari via iPhone, all the same.

Was just wondering if anyone had the same cable modem from UPC and knew the login/pswd info.

i just go to 192.168.100.1 to access my upc modem, but it dosent look like you can change anything, and thats for the scientific atlanta epc2203 modem.

    Try admin, and NO PASSWORD.

I did, doesn't work. Also tried no login with various passwords and no pswd, no joy.

If you hardware reset it (by using a pin to hold down the reset button for 30 seconds I think) it should revert to factory defaults - which are admin and no password AFAIR.

I'd be fairly reluctant to do that, it's not my router, it's UPCs actual cable modem/router. Half afraid I'd bollock it up and it would stop connecting to UPCs service :/

I'll keep it in mind though thanks.
Was reading on a polish site about the ability to tftp the image and decrypt it to get the pswd, another option I guess if nobody posting here knows what the login/pswd is.

Ring up UPC tech support. They will probably tell you to factory reset it as well.

It won't screw up any of the hidden UPC settings, it will just nuke the user settings - for example if you renamed your wifi or whatever.

Resetting the router is a LOT less work than trying to hack/decrypt the password :D

No, it's not my router, it's their cable modem. Users are not normally allowed or have acces to it. I want access to set up bridge mode and some other stuff.
    It has no wireless either.

No sure if you've UPC yourself but it's not the user router they also supply.

I'm talking about the cable modem.... Yes I have one.

Ring up UPC and ask them, this is not a big deal.

Also you don't need to fiddle with any of that, see this thread further down the page: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056684993

You might have a different model but the method is the same for all using DMZ. If you have a model without a router then why are you even trying to mess with the settings? It's your router that needs reconfiguring...

I think it's more the fact I don't have access to it that makes me actually want access to it :P

I know all about the DMZ stuff and my own router etc all that stuff. I'm doing it at the moment.

I may not even end up changing anything on the UPC modem, I just want access to it to see what other options I have.

I dunno who you rang in UPC before but all I ever get are monkey robots reading from some scripted answers, very unhelpful, they haven't a clue. I have asked before.

No they won't give you access to the cable modem bits, only to the router bits. And yes they completely own your box and can read your email etc (they are the "man in the middle" after all). Gotta put up with it coz they are the only decent ISP we got!

I know they won't give me access, that's why I was asking here for the info...

What are you hoping to see/do with the modem that you need this access?

I just want access, mainly because of what seems like mad secrecy around UPC not giving it in the first place.
Lads on a Polish forum have offered to decrypt it for me, maybe I'll have to take that route. Seems nobody knows the login info outside of UPC.

What's the point though? That modem has no settings for an end user to change anyway. You can see your RX+TX levels on the first tab. All the others UPC can access if needed.

It's cool. I have access now, thanks to some nice Polski's :)

Hi, any chance you could post it up? Or PM it? Looking to get access to tweak some settings to get a chromecast working better. Thanks
