    Hi Guys,
We have the sky movies package.
The dish is on an exposed side of the house and whenever it rains, the tv loses reception. Any idea's how to fix it?
Especially on the channel 4, film 4 etc...

Id like to be able to fix this myself
    Thanks!

Well we've no waterproofing on our cable so that might be it...

Sounds like your signal is dropping out. Is it rusty or in bad condition? If not then it may need aligning to improve signal.

The sky box report a signal quality that is below 50% constanlty

    http://www.stevelarkins.freeuk.com/sky-signal-test.htm

this link says it should be over 50 minimum - so that means the dish is off line?

My old Sky mini dish was 10 years old before changing it last year. I too at times got loss of signal when it rained heavy (not as much as you op tho) When the dish was taken down it was rusty as hell and was slightly out of allignment. Ten years up there after all.

So op. How old is your dish?

Loss of signal during rain is a sign of an old, rusted dish. If you dish is old and rusty it probably needs to be replaced.

If you are out of contract with Sky they charge 100 Euro. Any other installer contacted directly should be cheaper. If you threathen to cancel Sky they may fix it for free, but then lock you into another years contract.
