My question is why are there so many aircraft leasing companies in Ireland, is it for the tax breaks and is it any benefit to the country apart from a small number of jobs?

I believe it to be a combination of Tax breaks, Corporation Tax, IAA regulations and a long history of leasing companies and Ireland. I doubt there is a huge benefit for the Irish economy but 500+ jobs is still helpful.


*Have no idea how many leasing company employees are based in Ireland, 500+ is just a guess.

Its also linked to Guinness Peat Aviation that Tony Ryan set up. Many leasing companies based here because there were a lot of skilled people who knew the leasing industry very well as a result of working with GPA.
