unemployed claiming tax for one days work

    unemployed at the moment but did one day work at poling station. paid about €80 tax. can I claim that back as I dont intend to be working in this country for the foreseeable future. is there an easy way of checking this online. I seem to remember someone saying that you can just log into revenue and put in your pps no. and it will tell you if you are due any taxback.

    The online system does not work in that way. You can review prior tax years not the current one online.

    In order to look for a refund of tax for the current tax year, you need to complete a form p50 and submit it to your local PAYE section with parts 2 & 3 of your P45.

    It should already be on file with Revenue. When you cease work, the employer issues part 1 to Revenue and parts 2, 3 and 4 to you.
    So maybe contact Revenue and ask is it on record.
