Getting from Beauvais airport to central Paris

I'm flying into Beauvais (Ryanair) week after next & have been trying to find out best way to get into Chatelet, Central Paris. Shuttle buses seem expensive so I'm wondering if it's possible to take Metro?
Will I have to get a bus into nearest town & then get Metro? All info on Google is nearly four years old so if anyone has been there recently would really appreciate any tips.

Just get the bus. Just over an hour and something around 15 quid return. Your metroidea sounds bizzare

The bus from Beauvais to Paris is €15 each way.

There really is no cheaper option.

Getting a train from Beauvais will cost more than the bus and take longer as you'll need to get from the airport into Beauvais town first.

The Paris Metro only serves the city of Paris and some immediate suburbs and doesn't reach Beauvais which is around 50 miles north of the french capital.

The bus will take you to Porte Maillot on the western edge of Paris. From here, Line 1 on the Metro in the direction of Chateau de Vincennes will take you to Chatelet in about 10 minutes. (Return buses to the airport depart 3 hours before your flight time.)

Just a word on Chatelet Metro station. Its one of the biggest and busiest in the world and a complete maze. It can be daunting for regular users, let alone first time visitors. Depending on where you need to get to, it can often be handier to get out at an adjacent station.

Did they lower the price recently? I thought it was 20 euro each way but the Ryanair website says 15 euro. 15 is a lot better than 20 so I'm glad if indeed the price went down :) I flew Ryanair to Beauvais airport twice last year but haven't gone this year yet.

I last used Beavais in March and it was €15 then.

€20 each way would be excessive.

At that price 4 people travelling together might be better off sharing a taxi.

It might work out a few euro more, but at least they'll be dropped to their front door in Paris and cut out the need to get the Metro from Maillot.

How much would a taxi cost?

I was there in August last year, and when my friend and I asked about a taxi, we were told it'd be 30 euro at least. If I were you I'd get the bus! Enjoy Paris! :)

€30? More like €100/120, depending on traffic. It's about the equivalent of getting a taxi into Dublin city centre from Portlaois.

The Ryanair bus to Porte Maillot is the only sensible option unless there are 3 or 4 of you. They're nice big modern coaches and the trip (and staff) are usually a lot more pleasant than the Ryanair flight itself. Like Lapin said, it's a straight run to Châtelet on line 1 of the Metro (dir. Château de Vincennes) — i.e. no changes and not too much horsing your baggage up and down the tunnels and stairs of the Metro stations

I know... we didn't take the taxi, knew that couldn't be right. I think we just got a rogue driver... and we did have massive suitcases - obviously tourists!
