Kuhn Side mounted mower locking mechanism

Hi,

Is there anyone here, using a Kuhn GMD 700 side mounted mower.

The one in the ad above is the same model I think.

Anyway, after the winter, when we went to use it the rope you pull to let the machine go from travelling-mode to mowing-mode and visa versa had come undone and we cant get it back to the way it was.

Can someone please post up a pic or a description of how it is meant to be if ye have it or know it.

There's three things that the rope goes through, the main lock to let the mower from vertical to horizontal, the ram cover which prevents you ramming up too much and breaking the PTO and finally it goes into the piece that sits in a channel lets the mower adjust to the countours of the ground. There's a metal ball at the very end that I cant remember what its there for or what way its meant to be used. Does it knot at any part or just pass through the holes.

If anyone can explain it, it would help a lot thanks

I will take a look at my GMD600 tomorrow and hopefully I can shed some light...

Not sure if the GMD600 is the same mechanism as the 700 from your description but the rope with the 600 is fairly straightforward.
It just needs to be attached to the 'hook' and runs through an eye further up the frame. Once the rope is pulled out fully the hook will move and the locking mechanism is released or engaged when the mower is lifted/lowered.

PPN - Ya its similar enough to your pictures. On our one though theres another slot thing down lower that the rope ties to in some way. Thats the bit that I cant seem to get right.
