Unable to disable UAC on Windows 7

    I'm in a bit of a pickle. I've been trying to install Midiyoke on my desktop (which, bizarrely, says that its operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate when I boot it up but when I look at the system details it says that its Windows XP) but in order to do so I have to disable UAC. The problem is, this ability seems nonexistent on my computer. Is there any way that I can bypass this so that I can install the software?

    Right click on the installer and "Run as administrator". I would not reccomend turning off UAC as its a security feature, but to turn it off temporarily go into Start>control Panel>User Accounts and on the left "Turn UAC on or off"/or change user account control settings, drag the slider to off position. I would reccomend turning back on again after

    Thanks for the reply Nick, but the the ability to turn off the UAC doesn't appear in my Control Panel like it's meant to. I've also tried right-clicking and selecting 'Run as' but I don't have an Admin password. The only account on my PC is my one entitled 'Luke' and when I select that and input my password nothing happens with the installation.

    Hmm, are you sure it is not running Windows xp with a Windows 7 theme like this? UAC should definately be an option in all Windows 7 installs. Can you do a screenshot of the about my computer properties?

    press start type in msconfig then click on tools the UAC option and click launch. you can turn it off there.
