It is that time of the year again both my car and my wifes need servicing.I have been looking around for about a month trying to get a good deal for my car her one can wait, the bank wont let me take out two morgages at the same time.
I took my Fiat Stilo into Atlas Sandyford after a couple of co workers had got servicing done there already. This is only the second time I have got my car serviced by someone other than the dealership I bought it as it is now gone. And I have to say it was very close to what I was used to very good price 139 incl vat which was nice as everyone else seems to quote ex vat,got two phone calls from the service manager through out the day telling me all the good news on the repair work needed and also found out he used to work as a mechanic in the dealership I bought it from and he had serviced my car there as his name was signed on the service book which was nice to know.
Only thing I had a problem with was when I was picking it up,it was finished and outside even washed (bonus free sunday morning) I was left for nearly ten minutes with no one at the front desk, like i could have robbed the place blind and been long gone before anyone knew. Finally the manager arrivied and started running through the issues that my car had when I had told the service manager to go ahead with the work after a quick call the service manager came out not going to say his name and ran through everything with me he looked like he was hard at it so did'nt want to take up to much of his time but was very happy to answer any question I had and to talk about the dealership he used to work so anyway long story short was very pleased with it overall and would recommend them.I will be booking my wifes car in soon for the yearly operation hopefully not as painful

Very hard to read your post.
Anyway, what extra work did the car need and how much was the final bill?

    That's exactly what I thought.
I read it, and after finishing I realised I didn't really understand what was it about.
OP, maybe next time try to use this: ","

You left your car in for a service and started getting phone calls telling you the 'good news' about 'repair work'

The only 'good news' I want to hear from a service manager is 'your car is ready and we didn't have to use any parts beyond the usual stuff that was priced into the quote we gave you'

don`t see what two mortgages has to do with servicing two cars:confused:

I think the OP is suggesting that getting two cars serviced properly costs the equivalent of a mortgage payment and they would rather get it done somewhere like atlas where although they are much cheaper, they eventually get round to telling you of the various required fixes and the associated costs (which brings you back into mortgage territory)

Interesting. I have some questions, however, I was hoping you might guide me in the correct direction as I've been looking for a good service myself, as it were.

How do you manage to "service" both the car and wife on the same day?

What do you do for kicks the other 364 days?

I got to just after "fiat stilo into", before I thought, I get the point now.
I read the rest anyway but just thought they'd make a reasonable story out of it, needless to say I was a bit dissapointed.

It is that time of the year again with both my car and my wife's needing servicing. I have been looking around for about a month trying to get a good deal for my car. Her one can wait, as the bank wont let me take out two mortgages at the same time, lol.

I took my Fiat Stilo into Atlas Sandyford after a couple of co workers had got servicing done there already. This is only the second time I have got my car serviced by someone other than the dealership I bought it from, who are no longer open.

I have to say it was very close to what I was used to. Very good price, €139 incl vat which was nice as everyone else seems to quote ex vat. I got two phone calls from the service manager through out the day telling me all the good news on the repair work needed and also found out he used to work as a mechanic in the dealership I bought it from. I was left for nearly ten minutes with no one at the front desk, like I could have robbed the place blind and been long gone before anyone knew. Finally the manager arrived and started running through the issues that my car had when I had told the service manager to go ahead with the work. After a quick call the service manager came out, not going to say his name and ran through everything with me. He looked like he was hard at it so I didn't want to take up to much of his time, but he was very happy to answer any question I had and to talk about the dealership he used to work for. So anyway, long story short, I was very pleased with it overall and would recommend them. I will be booking my wife's car in soon for the yearly operation, hopefully not as painful.
I understood the OP, but for the people who are a little put out with the posting style, I have reformatted it for better viewing. I hope I don't cause offence OP.
