I didn't know where else to post this cuz there's no forum yoke for Mater Dei, so left it here as it's part of DCU. xD

Would anyone happen to know what the social life is like, seeing as it's a small college? :)

I'm starting in Sept, I've heard from people that have been that it has good nightlife as there are loads of pubs nearby and Pats is only down the road aswell.

One of the girls I know said I'll end up in Quinns Pub every night but I'm going back as a mature student so with work and being a bit older I think I'll be keeping my head in the books.

The social scene is much the same as in Pats, as they are so close. Halloween/Christmas/end of year balls are organised by the student union and you can generally always find a group going out to Quinn's as mentioned above for county colours nights and the like! People often go out in the city centre too. In a way, it being so small can be a social advantage as you always hear about where everyone is going/what's going on. We have a reasonable amount of clubs and societies too but you can always join the ones in DCU if there isn't one to suit your interests (or you can start up your own!).
